It’s been almost 15 years since Gilmore Girls ended and five years since the reboot, Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life wrapped, which means Gilmore Girls fans are in dire need of their favorite characters. A good number of actors and actresses have projects in the works for 2022, making Gilmore Girls all the more eager to see their favorite stars on TV.

There are upcoming TV shows, podcasts, and movies that involve Stars Hollow’s favorites. And while there will never be another Lorelai, Dean, or Taylor Doose, seeing these familiar faces will make Gilmore Girls fans swoon.

Amy Sherman-Palladino

(The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel)

Amy Sherman-Palladino was the creator, writer, and executive producer of Gilmore Girls. Without her imagination and storytelling, Gilmore Girls wouldn’t have been the iconic television series that it is. Although the show was at its highest in the early 2000s, there are plenty of things about Gilmore Girls that still work today.

In 2022, fans of Amy’s can see her work in the continuation of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. Amy created the award-winning comedy in 2017 and is said to be continuing to produce it through 2022.

Alexis Bledel

(The Handmaid’s Tale And Sisterhood of The Traveling Pants 3)

Alexis Bledel was perfectly cast as Rory Gilmore. From the start, Rory was a bright and inquisitive teenager, but as she grew, life’s hardships threw curveballs at her. Like many others, Rory Gilmore had great and bad traits, but fans loved watching her grow throughout the years.

After A Year in the life, Alexis Bledel took some time off acting before jumping into something else. But when 2019 rolled around, she started alongside Luke Hemsworth and Kurt Russel in the movie Crypto. Fans could also hear her voice in the podcast series The Coldest Case as Valerie Harney. More importantly, Gilmore Girls fans loved seeing her in The Handmaid’s Tale, which she just wrapped up this year. Next up for Bledel is the continuation of the beloved franchise Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 3.

Matt Czuchry

(The Resident)

Matt Czuchry is most known for his time as Logan Huntzberger in the Gilmore Girls fandom. Team Logan fans agreed that some of the best Gilmore Girls episodes involved Rory and Logan. Logan wasn’t always the sweetest of boyfriends or kindest of people, but he grew a lot over the years and became a standup man.

Matt did appear in the Gilmore Girls reboot and has most recently starred in The Resident as Dr. Conrad Hawkins, which can be streamed now on Hulu.

Keiko Agena

(Better Call Saul And Central Park)

Keiko Agena played Rory’s best friend, Lane Kim. Lane was brilliant, hilarious, and had a good head on her shoulders, but she was plagued by her overbearing mother who wanted to keep her under her thumb.

Even when fans disliked Rory throughout Gilmore Girls, the one thing they can all agree on is how good of a friend Lane was to her. Since appearing in the reboot, Keiko has been busy with multiple acting roles, including 13 Reasons Why, Dirty John, and Prodigal Son. More recently, fans can see her in the latest seasons of Better Call Saul and Central Park.

Yanic Truesdale

(God’s Favorite Idiot And Fallen Angels Murder Club: Heroes And Felons)

Yanic Truesdale played Lorelai’s beloved colleague and frenemy Michel Gerard. Michel was sarcastic and didn’t always love working for or with Lorelai, but the two had a mutual understanding and were friends.

Yanic went on to wok on The Wedding Planners and Les Mecs after the Netflix reboot was released, but in 2022 he can also be seen in the TV movies Fallen Angels Murder Club: Friends to Die For and Heroes and Felons. He’s also in the same show with Gilmore Girls’ Melissa McCarthy, God’s Favorite Idiot.

Lauren Graham

(Mighty Ducks: The Game Changers)

Lauren Graham played the lovable Lorelai Gilmore. In the series, Lorelai was a single mom who was dead set on raising her only daughter, Rory, to be self-sufficient while also being her best friend. After getting pregnant with Rory so young and not always being mature, there were plenty of things about Lorelai that aged poorly, but she was a loving, present mother.

Since Gilmore Girls’ ending, Graham jumped into popular projects like Parenthood, Vampirina, and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist. In 2022, fans can continue watching her in Disney’s series, Mighty Ducks: The Game Changers.

Scott Patterson

(I’m All In with Scott Patterson, Sullivan’s Crossing, And More)

Scott Patterson portrayed everyone’s favorite grouchy coffee pourer, Luke Danes. Luke had an on-and-off relationship timeline with Lorelai, but that’s not all he was known for in the series. Luke was also a business owner, a newer single dad, and a father figure to Rory. For all the sighs Luke gave in the series, he was a standup guy who loved Stars Hollow.

Since the series ended, Patterson created a podcast dedicated to Gilmore Girls that fans can listen to in 2022, I’m All In with Scott Patterson. Each episode breaks down an episode of the series. Aside from his podcast, Patterson plays Agent Wyatt in an action film called The Rogue, but the release date is to be announced. He’s also set to be in The Sons of Summer and Liberty.

Melissa McCarthy

(God’s Favorite Idiot, Thor: Love & Thunder, And More)

Melissa McCarthy has been incredibly busy since her Sookie St. James days. She was so busy, in fact, that she almost didn’t film the reboot. She’s been a part of Samantha Who?, This is 40, and more recently, Nine Perfect Strangers. Her character Sookie’s relationship with her husband Jackson made them one of the more relatable Gilmore Girls couples, but it was her friendship with Lorelai that fans loved most.

As of late, Sookie fans can see McCarthy as Actor Hela in Thor: Love and Thunder and God’s Favorite Idiot as Amily Luck. In the upcoming years, fans are excited about Melissa’s huge deal with Disney as Ursula in the live-action movie, The Little Mermaid.

Sean Gunn

(Thor: Love and Thunder, The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, And More)

Sean Gunn has created quite a career for himself since his time on Gilmore Girls. In the series, Gunn played Stars Hollow’s kooky resident, Kirk. His character got better and better with time, even though Luke and Taylor Doose didn’t always appreciate his presence.

Outside of the Gilmore Girls fandom, Gunn has been seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy universe, the Avengers films, and The Suicide Squad. In 2022, Gunn’s movies Thor: Love and Thunder and The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special released, but he’s also expected to be in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, and Give Me An A.

Kelly Bishop

(The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel And The Watchful Eye)

The memorable Emily Gilmore has some of the shadiest burns in the series. As Lorelai’s mom, Emily always expected the best and judged anyone who didn’t fit in with her wealthy circle. Actress Kelly Bishop perfected the role and made her a horrifying yet lovable character.

Bishop has been acting since the ’60s and continues to act today. After starring in The Salzburg Story and Halston, fans can see her in the fourth episode of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (alongside Amy Sherman-Palladino) in 2022. Kelly is also in the upcoming series The Watchful Eye as Mrs. Ivey, but there is no release date as of this article’s publishing.

Emily Kuroda

(Baymax! And Marvel’s Squirrel Girl: The Unbeatable Radio Show)

No one could have portrayed Mrs. Kim the way actress Emily Kuroda did. Mrs. Kim was cold, stern, and ever professional. She loved her daughter Lane but didn’t approve of a life outside of her strict household and dedicated religion, which was exactly what Lane did. Nevertheless, Mrs. Kim found a way to support Lane and keep a close relationship with her.

In 2022, Kuroda has been busy with work. She appeared in the movie Kimi, the podcast series Marvel’s Squirrel Girl: The Unbeatable Radio Show, and Baymax!. On top of those works, fans can catch Kuroda on the recently announced Scruples, The Power, and Justice Angel.

Milo Ventimiglia

(This Is Us, The Company You Keep, And Land of Bad)

Milo Ventimiglia made hearts swoon with his portrayal of Jess Mariano. His episodes with Rory were some of the best in the series because of their complicated relationship, but they ended the series as friends.

Once Ventimiglia left Gilmore Girls, he appeared in Heroes, Ultimate Spider-Man, and Strawberry Spring. More notably, Ventimiglia has done a fantastic job of playing Jack Pearson in This is Us, a beloved show that wrapped up its run in 2022. He’s also in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel alongside Kelly Bishop and Amy Sherman-Palladino. In 2023, fans can see him in the series The Company You Keep and Land of Bad.
