If you haven’t been watching Netflix’s GLOW, AKA the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling, you’re more than missing out. But we know you will love all of these quirky, dynamic, and complex characters. This show just got renewed for its fourth season, and you probably have a favorite character and a favorite wrestling persona. Or, maybe you’re just a huge fan of everything to do with one of these ladies. But let’s be honest, they’re all fantastic for different reasons. One of our favorite parts about this show is the stellar costuming. Not only is the ’80s flair absolutely incredible, but the wrestling costumes themselves are absolutely stunning. In case you can’t keep track, we’ve done it for you. Here are the 10 raddest costume from the series, ranked.
Debbie’s Practice Bodysuit
This outfit has us absolutely in love. This is from pretty early on in the series, and let’s be honest, it’s one of the main reasons we’re obsessed with this character. From the color to the fit to the elegance, this character sums up Debbie and has her looking absolutely incredible. We adore everything about it, and it definitely set Debbie apart from her wrestling counterparts. You can say what you want about this complex character, but boy does she know how to slay in every stellar outfit she chooses.
Britannica
Britannica is always slaying, right? Right. We love her wrestling persona, and we love her costume for it even more. From the cute glasses to the sparkly, golden bandeau to the plaid skirt/overall thing going on, we love every inch of it. Yes, we’ll give a shout out to Arthie here for her costume, but we know how much she hates its racial overtones. We don’t blame her, so we’ll stick with Britannica. She’s looking smart and beautiful in that one, and we kind of want to borrow it for a weird Halloween costume.
Debbie, Again (The Producer Look)
Debbie is always our fashion guru. Seriously, she’s the epitome of high fashion in the ’80s. She wore this outfit for a conference that she and Bash attended, so she was trying to look as professional as possible. Boy, she killed it. From that gorgeous hat to that stunning suit/dress, she has it all going on. Also, only Debbie could pull off an entire outfit in that blush pink, and we’re here for it. Maybe we could paint our walls that color.
Sheila’s Liza Minnelli
Yes, girl, yes. Sure, this costume is all the more powerful because of the absolutely stellar break-out moment that Sheila had while wearing it. This is the first time we see her dressed as, well, a human, and while we’re supporting her choices, we can’t help but say that this dress and wig (and wine glass!) absolutely stole the show. Sheila looked stunning, and boy we definitely want to borrow this costume for every costume party ever. This costume and this character are gorgeous, lady.
So, So Many Sequins
So, so many sequins, and we’re loving every single one. We almost just chose Bash for this list, but we couldn’t help but also include Sandy. Like, they’re matching, in a very weird and obscure way. We’re not sure if the white star-speckled suit or the black dress with gorgeous colors is better, so we’re not going to choose. These two are slaying, and we also think these are the only two characters who could pull these outfits off. Bravo to the costume designer, because these are lit.
Fortune Cookie
We know, it’s racist, and there’s a wonderful, heartfelt moment in the third season where the ladies are sitting around the fire. You know it, and you know that Jenny talks about why she absolutely hates jumping out of a fortune cookie. So, we’re definitely not going to include that. But pushing politics aside, this costume is absolutely stunning. From her colored and crimped hair, the pink rimmed hat, and the beautifully detailed kimono, we’re loving it, and she looks phenomenal. We feel for you, Jenny, but at least that costume is stellar.
The Wrestler’s Wedding Bodysuit
We didn’t know you could have a wrestling bodysuit as a wedding gown, but boy does Rhonda pull it off. Honestly, the costume designer deserves an award for this one. Seriously, we’ve seen worse wedding dresses than this bodysuit. From that stunning veil to the beautiful collar to the sheer sleeves and the lace bodice, we would honestly not be super mad if we had to walk down the aisle in this costume. Rhonda is always slaying, but we have to give a specific shout-out to this incredible costume. Only on GLOW, right?
Oh, Liberty Belle
We had to put Liberty Belle on this list, right? It’d be a crime not to put Miss America’s stunning, star-spangled outfit on the list of best costumes. While we love the bodysuit, we mainly are applauding that brilliant peacock skirt with the striped front and starred tail. Brilliant, honestly, not to mention that silver bodice and starred accent belt. Obviously, Debbie pulls this off, but it’s a fabulous costume in itself. We also seriously want to borrow this one for Independence Day, even if it wouldn’t look as good on us as it does on Miss Debbie Eagan.
The Bodysuits
Everything about these pink, gold, frilly bodysuits has us dead. Honestly, even those headbands are stellar. Maybe only the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling could pull these off, but boy do they ever. Again, a huge shout-out to the costume designer for these gorgeous pieces. Whoever thought to get hot pink or gold bodysuits and then put poofy gold and pink straps on them was an absolutely genius. Now these, we’d love to steal, and wear them just like, everyday, right? Stunning ladies, and stunning costumes. GLOW is killing it.
Zoya is Destroying
Yes, Zoya the Destroyer is destroying every single one of us with this costume. Yes, we all love Ruth, so maybe we’re biased, but we’d be blind not to put this fierce costume in the #1 spot on this list. From that fur hat to those black gloves to the shimmering red one-shoulder body suit, how could this costume not take the gold? It’s absolutely stunning, and it’s brilliant for its purposes on the show. Even further though, is that this costume is actually beautiful in every way, and we know we’ve said it for like every item on this list, but this is the costume we want for Halloween. Ruth, baby, you’re Zoya to us, and we’re definitely not mad about it. Also, only Ruth could pull off that thick, red spandex collar.
